RELIGIOUS EDUCATION continues Monday for grades 6,7,8,9 at 7pm at school, and Tuesday for grades 1,2,3,4,5 at 3:30pm at school. Registrations forms are at the church door.
 
The R. I. Catholic Medical Society invites all Physicians, Health Care Professionals and Workers, their Families and Patients to THE 2008 WHITE MASS as the Most Reverend Thomas J. Tobin, Bishop of Providence, celebrates the annual Mass, asking the Lord’s blessings upon those called to share His work of healing.   Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at 7pm; St. Timothy Church, 1799 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, RI, A light reception will immediately follow.
 
OCTOBER DEVOTIONS:  Each Wednesday of October at 7pm, Rosary, Litany and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament will take place in honor of Our Blessed Mother, Our Lady of the Rosary.  All invited!
 
ROSES FOR LIFE gathered $ 501.00 for the Pro-Life work in our state.  Thank you to Mike and Sheila Parenteau for organizing this effort!.
 
THE LYNN RYAN FUND COLLECTION will be taken up at all Masses this weekend. Thank you for your generosity toward this commendable cause.  Each year a student from Grade 8 and a student from Grade 7 are awarded $ 500.00 each toward their tuition at St. Francis School.  The award takes into account their marks as well as their parish and school activities.  This year’s winners are Samantha Antone and Victoria Dubois. 
 
ST.  FRANCIS SCHOOL STUDENT COUNCIL has elected Samantha Antone as president, Emily McCarthy as Vice-President, Noah Williams as Treasurer and Cullen Aubin as Secretary.  Representatives of grade four through eight serve on the Council which promotes various school activities.  Officers will be inducted at the 10:30am Mass this Sunday.
 
ST. FRANCIS SCHOOL EIGHTH GRADE will offer mums at the church door after all Masses.  Funds benefit the end-of-year activities for this senior class.
 
The newest members of the ST. FRANCIS SCHOOL STUDENT COUNCIL will be inducted at the 10:30 am Mass on Sunday, October 12 at St. Francis of Assisi Church.   Teacher Mark Pertuso will be exercising leadership in the council to promote social activities and service projects during the school year.  Congratulations!!
 
ST. FRANCIS WOMEN'S GROUP: Those interested in planning the year's agenda for the St. Francis Women's Group are invited to the next meeting on Thursday October 16, 2008 at 7:00 PM in the School.  The discussion will include final plans for a December Day Trip, the beginning of a prayer shawl ministry, and a date for next year's spring breakfast.  All are welcome!  For further information contact Cheryl Pertusso at the rectory (737-5191) or Kathy McKeon evenings at home 785-9781. 
 
It's ST. FRANCIS/ ST. WILLIAM BASKETBALL time once again...The sounds of basketballs on the floor as young stars go for a lay-up. The objective of the St. Francis/ St. William basketball program is to help our youth discover their own potential, learn affirmative values and develop social responsibility.  Basketball registration are taking place now....Please contact Tom Shiel 738-5352 for more details.
