OLD BUSINESS

·         Women’s Club May Breakfast was a great turnout, will have another next year.

·         The Women’s Club is sponsoring a trip to the Granite Theatre in Westerly to see “Self Help” on Sunday September 27, 2009. Trip includes transportation, lunch at the Venice Restaurant (Chicken Picatta or Baked Scrod) followed by the 2PM performance.  Bus will leave St. Francis Church parking lot at 10:45am. A firm commitment of 30 persons is needed BEFORE FRIDAY June 19, 2009. Price is $71.00 per person. Everyone is invited both men and women.

 

NEW BUSINESS

·         Oct.4^th.2009 Feast of St. Francis with blessing of animals at 1:00PM church courtyard.

·         12 Week Club is moving along, it is still not too late to join for the Grand Prizes and Dinner at West Valley on Saturday Oct. 24^th.

·         October 4, 2009 Anniversary Mass Celebrated At the Cathedral for Anniversaries 25^th, 30^th, and any increments of 5 years there after thereafter. Please contact rectory if you plan to attend.

·         March 20^th, 2010 we will try to have a celebration in school for the feast of St. Patrick and St. Joseph. After the 4:00pm mass. More will follow. 

·         Al Ashworth and Gerry Winn will represent St. Francis at the Diocesan Evangelization Congress held at Providence College on Oct. 10^th, from 9-2:30 PM. 

·         A few members of the council will not be returning

 

SCHOOL BUSINESS

·         St. Francis Parent School Association sponsored a School Summer Picnic on the grounds of the Shriner’s Park in Buttonwoods on Long Street, on Saturday afternoon June 20, 2009. A good time was had by all that attended.

·         School closing went smoothly but very sad. All teachers have positions except 1 and 1 retired.
