Warwick, Rhode Island
Dear Visitor to our parish web site,
The parish of St Francis has been located in the Hillsgrove neighborhood of Warwick, Rhode Island since 1900. The present church building dates from 1960 and has been renovated over the years to reflect the Catholic belief that the celebration of the Eucharist is the very heart of the Christian life. The central altar, visually backed up by a prominent tabernacle and an impressive crucifix, reminds all worshippers and visitors that we are a priestly people, offering the Holy Sacrifice in Christ’s name daily to the Father. Mass is celebrated every day at St. Francis Church at 8am with a vigil Mass at 4pm on Saturday and 8am & 10;30am on Sunday. As pastor I invite all viewers of this web site to join St. Francis Catholic community in the regular worship of God at Mass. Your worthy participation at Mass is enhanced by the availability of confessions every morning, Monday through Friday at 7:40am and Saturday afternoons at 3:30pm. A parish school has been proudly and successfully maintained at St. Francis parish since 1965. A complete and thorough religious education program for public children is offered each week during the school year at both parishes. Our church property is totally handicapped accessible. The neighborhood of Hillsgrove is close by Warwick’s T. F. Green Airport and Interstate Route 95.
While worship and religious education are the chief ministries offered by St. Francis parish to our believing community, other services are also presented. St. Francis parish maintains and promotes a parish school, grades pre-K through 8 with 153 students. Miss Barbara Dwyer is the principal. A youth athletic program and an adult music ministry are among the variety of services made available to all interested persons. The sick and house bound are visited regularly by the priest and deacon. Once again, as pastor, I welcome all visitors to our parish churches and web site. I invite you to praise God in Jesus’ Name through our celebration of Mass and our celebration of parish life.
Respectfully,
The Reverend John A. Kiley
