THE SIGN OF THE CROSS
In the Name
of the Father and of the Son and of
the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father,
who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day
our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass
against us;
and lead us not
into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen.
THE ANGELIC SALUTATION
Hail Mary,
full of grace, the Lord is with you.
Blessed are you
among women and blessed is the fruit of you womb Jesus.
Holy May, Mother
of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
THE APOSTLES' CREED
I believe in God the Father Almighty,
Creator of Heaven and earth;
I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our
Lord,
He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born
of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was
crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead. On the third day He
rose again.
He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the
right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and
the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy
Catholic Church,
the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of
sins,
the resurrection of the body, and the life
everlasting. Amen.
MORNING OFFERING
O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
I offer you all my prayers, works, and suffering of this day:
for all the intentions of your Sacred heart,
in union with the holy sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world,
in reparation for all my sins, for the intentions of all our associates,
and in particular, for the intention of our Holy Father. Amen.
Acts of Contrition
 |
My God, I am sorry
for my sins with all my heart.
|
In choosing to do
wrong and failing to do good I have sinned against you, whom I should love
above all things.
I firmly intend,
with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me
to sin.
Our Savior Jesus
Christ suffered and died for us. In His name, my
God, have mercy.- Amen
 |
O my God, I am
heartily sorry for having offended You.
|
And I detest all my
sins because of your just punishments.
But most of all
because they offend You, my God, Who are all good and deserving of all my
love.
I firmly resolve,
with the help of Your grace to sin no more and to avoid the near occasion of
sin. Amen
 |
O my God, I am
heartily sorry for having offended Thee.
|
And I detest all my
sins because I dread the loss of Heaven and the pains of hell.
But most of all
because they offend Thee, my God, Who are all good and deserving of all my
love.
I firmly resolve,
with the help of Thy grace to confess my sins, to do penance and to amend my
life. Amen
The Angelus Prayer
 |
The angel of the
Lord declared unto Mary.
And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.
 |
Hail Mary, ...
|
|
 |
Behold the
handmaid of the Lord.
Be it done unto me according to Thy word.
 |
Hail Mary, ...
|
|
 |
And the Word was
made Flesh.
And dwelt among us.
 |
Hail Mary, ...
|
|
 |
Pray for us, O
holy Mother of God.
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
|
Let Us Pray:
Pour forth, we
beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts,
that we to whom
the Incarnation of Christ Thy Son was made known by the message of an angel,
may by His Passion
and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection.
Through the same
Christ Our Lord. Amen.

Anima Christi
Soul of Christ, be
my sanctification
Body of Christ, be my salvation
Blood of Christ, fill all my veins
Water from Christ's side, wash out my stains;
Passion of Christ, my comfort be
O good Jesus listen to me;
In your wounds I feign would hide;
ne'er to be parted from thy side.
Guard me when the foe assails me
Guide me when my
feet shall fail me
Bid me come to thee
above
with the saints to
sing thy love
forever and ever. Amen.
Prayer to the Holy Spirit
Come Holy Spirit,
fill the hearts of your faithful
and kindle in them the fire of your love.
Send forth your Spirit
and they shall be created.
And You shall renew the face of the earth.
Let us pray:
O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit,
did instruct the hearts of the faithful,
grant that by the same Holy Spirit
we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations,
Through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
Another Prayer for Peace
O God, from Whom
are all holy desires, righteous counsels, and just works,
give to Thy
servants that peace which the world cannot give;
that, our hearts
being disposed to keep Thy commandments, and the fear of enemies taken away,
the times, by Thy
protection, may be peaceful. Amen
Prayer
for Guidance
Direct, we beseech
Thee, O Lord, our actions by Thy holy inspirations,
and carry them on
by Thy gracious assistance;
that every prayer
and work of ours may always begin from Thee,
and through Thee
be happily ended. Amen
Prayer
to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
O most holy heart of Jesus, fountain of every
blessing,
I adore you, I love you, and with lively
sorrow for my sins I offer you this poor heart of mine.
Make me humble, patient, pure and wholly
obedient to your will.
Grant, Good Jesus, that I may live in you and
for you.
Protect me in the midst of danger. Comfort me
in my afflictions.
Give me health of body, assistance in my
temporal needs, your blessing on all that I do, and the grace of a holy death.
Amen.
Hail Holy Queen
Hail Holy Queen,
Mother of Mercy,
our life, our
sweetness and our hope!
To Thee do we cry,
poor banished children of Eve!
To thee do we send
up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears!
Turn then most
gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us;
and after this,
our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb Jesus!
O clement, O
loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!
Prayer for the Church
O God! our refuge and our strength, look down with favour on Thy people who cry
to Thee;
and through the intercession of the glorious
and Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of God,
of Saint Joseph her Spouse, of Thy blessed
Apostles Peter and Paul, and of all the Saints,
in mercy and goodness hear our prayers
for the conversion of sinners,
and for the liberty and exaltation of
our holy Mother the Church.
Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen
Prayer for Peace
O Lord Jesus Christ, Who said to Your Apostles:
"Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you,"
regard not my sins but the faith of Your Church,
and deign to give her peace and unity according to Your Will:
Who live and reign, God, world without end. Amen.
Prayer Before Meals
Bless us, O Lord,
and these your gifts,
which we are about
to receive from your bounty, through Christ our Lord. Amen
Prayer After Meals
We give you
thanks, Almighty God for all your benefits.
And may the souls
of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen
Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel
St. Michael the
Archangel, defend us in battle;
Be our protection
against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke
Him, we humbly pray,
and do Thou, O
Prince of the Heavenly Host,
by the power of
God, cast into Hell, Satin and evil spirits,
who prowl through
the world, seeking the ruin of souls. Amen
Guardian Angel Prayer
Angel of God, My
guardian dear,
To whom God’s love
commits me here,
Ever this day be
at my side,
To light and
guard, to rule and guide. Amen
Prayers for the Souls in Purgatory
 | O gentle Heart of Jesus,
ever present in the Blessed Sacrament,
ever consumed with burning love
for the poor captive souls in Purgatory,
have mercy on them.
Be not severe in Your judgments,
but let some drops of Your Precious Blood
fall upon the devouring flames.
And, Merciful Saviour,
send Your angels to conduct them
to a place of refreshment,
light and peace. Amen. |
 | O God, the Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful,
grant to the souls of Thy servants
departed the remission of their sins, that,
through pious supplications,
they may obtain the pardon
which they have always desired.
Who livest and reignest with God the Father,
in the unity of the Holy Ghost,
world without end. Amen.
|
 | Father, God of all consolation, in Your unending love and mercy for us
You turn the darkness of death into the dawn of new life.
Through Your Son, Jesus Christ, we ask You to deliver the souls in Purgatory,
especially those for whom we now pray... (Mention them here.)
Welcome them into Your presence and bless them with eternal light and peace.
Raise them up to live forever with all Your saints in the glory of the Resurrection.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
|
 | O God, Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful,
grant to the souls of our departed loved ones, the remission of all their sins,
that by means of our pious supplications, they may obtain the joys of Heaven
which they have ever earnestly desire. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
|
Act of Faith
O my God, I firmly
believe that you are one God in Three Divine Persons, Father, Son and Holy
Spirit.
I believe that
your divine Son became man and died for our sins, and that he will come to
judge the living and the dead.
I believe these
and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches,
because you have
revealed them, who can neither deceive nor be deceived. Amen
Act of Hope
O my God, relying
on your infinite mercy and promises,
I hope to obtain
pardon of my sins with the help of your grace
and life
everlasting through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer. Amen
Act of Love
O my God, I love
you above all things with my whole heart and soul.
I love my neighbor
as myself for the love of you.
I forgive all who
have injured me and ask pardon of all whom I have injured. Amen.
Most sweet Jesus,
Redeemer of the human race, look down upon us humbly prostrate before your
altar. We are yours, and yours we wish to be; but to be more surely united
with you, behold each one of us freely consecrates himself today to your Most
Sacred Heart. Many indeed have never known you; many, too, despising your
precepts, have rejected you. Have mercy on them all, most merciful Jesus, and
draw them to your Sacred Heart.
Be King, O Lord,
not only of the faithful who have never forsaken you, but also of the prodigal
children who have abandoned you; grant that they may quickly return to their
Father's house, lest they die of wretchedness and hunger.
Be King of those
who are deceived by erroneous opinions, or whom discord keeps aloof, and call
them back to the harbor of truth and the unity of faith, so that soon there
may be but one flock and one Shepherd.
Grant, O Lord, to
your Church assurance of freedom and immunity from harm; give tranquility of
order to all nations; make the earth resound from pole to pole with one cry:
Praise to the Divine Heart that wrought our salvation; to it be glory and
honor forever.
Amen.
Prayer before a Crucifix
Look down upon me, good and gentle Jesus,
while before thy face I humbly kneel
and with burning soul pray and beseech thee
to fix deeply in my
heart lively
sentiments of faith, hope and charity,
true contrition for my sins and a firm purpose of
amendment,
the while I
contemplate with great love and tender pity thy five
most precious wounds
pondering over them within me while I call to mind
the words thy prophet David said of thee:
they have pierced my hands and my feet they have
numbered all my bones. Amen
The Memorare
Remember, O most
gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known
that anyone who
fled to your protection, implored your help
or sought your
intercession was left unaided.
Inspired by this
confidence, we fly unto you,
O Virgin of
virgins, our Mother!
To you we come,
before you we stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the
Word incarnate, despise not our petitions,
but in your mercy
hear and answer us. Amen
Prayer to Our Lady of Perpetual Help
O Mother of Perpetual Help,
grant that I may ever invoke thy most powerful name,
which is the safeguard of the living and the salvation of the dying.
O Purest Mary, O Sweetest Mary, let thy name henceforth be ever on my lips.
Delay not, O Blessed Lady, to help me whenever I call on thee,
for, in all my needs, in all my temptations
I shall never cease to call on thee, ever repeating thy sacred name, Mary, Mary.
O what consolation, what sweetness, what confidence, what emotion fill my soul
when I pronounce thy sacred name, or even only think of thee.
I thank God for having given thee, for my good, so sweet, so powerful, so lovely a name.
But I will not be content with merely pronouncing thy name:
let my love for thee prompt me ever to hail thee, Mother of Perpetual Help. Amen.
PRAYER FOR A HAPPY DEATH
O God, great and omnipotent judge of the living
and the dead,
we are to appear before you after this short
life to render an account of our works.
Give us the
grace to prepare for our last hour by a devout and holy life,
and protect us against a sudden and
unprovided death.
Let us
remember our frailty and mortality,
that we may
always live in the ways of your commandments.
Teach us to
"watch and pray" (Lk 21:36),
that when
your summons comes for our departure from this world,
we
may go forth to meet you, experience a merciful judgment, and rejoice in
everlasting happiness.
We ask this
through Christ our Lord. Amen.
PRAYER FOR LIFE
O God, our Creator, all life is in your hands
from conception until death.
Help us to
cherish our children and to reverence the awesome privilege of our share in
creation.
May all people live and die in dignity and
love.
Bless all those who defend the rights of the
unborn, the handicapped and the aged.
Enlighten
and be merciful toward those who fail to love, and give them peace.
Let freedom be tempered by responsibility,
integrity and morality.
We ask this
through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Prayer for Holiness
O Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, Who, by the will of the Father,
with the cooperation of the Holy Spirit, have
by Your death given life to the world,
deliver me by this Your Most Sacred Body and
Blood from all sins and from every evil.
Make me always cling to Your commmandments,
and never permit me to be separated from You.
Who with the same God the Father and the Holy
Spirit, live and reign, God, world without end. Amen.
St. Augustine's Evening Prayer
Watch, O Lord, with those who wake, or watch,
or weep tonight,
and give Your Angels and Saints charge over
those who sleep.
Tend Your sick ones, O Lord Christ.
Rest Your weary ones,
Bless Your dying ones,
Soothe Your suffering ones,
pity Your afflicted ones,
Shield Your joyous ones,
And all for Your love's sake. Amen.
Golden Arrow Prayer
May the
most holy,
most sacred,
most adorable,
most mysterious and unutterable Name of God
be always praised, blessed, loved, adored and glorified
in heaven on earth and under the earth,
by all the creatures of God,
and by the Sacred Heart of our Lord Jesus Christ
in the most Holy Sacrament of the altar. Amen.
Prayers for Priests
O Jesus,
I pray for Your faithful and fervent priests; for Your unfaithful and tepid priests;
for Your priests labouring at home or abroad in distant mission fields;
for Your tempted priests; for Your lonely and desolate priest;
for Your young priests; for Your dying priests; for the souls of Your priests in purgatory.
But above all I recommend to You the priests dearest to me;
the priest who baptized me; the priests who absolved me from my sins;
the priests at whose Masses I assisted and who gave me Your Body and Blood in Holy communion;
the priests who taught and instructed me; all the priests to whom I am indebted in any other way.
O Jesus, keep them all close to Your heart, and bless them abundantly in time and in eternity. Amen.
Keep them, I pray Thee, dearest Lord, keep
them, for they are Thine -
Thy priests whose lives burn out before Thy
consecrated shrine.
Keep them, for they are in the world, though
from the world apart;
when earthly pleasures tempt, allure -
shelter them in Thy heart.
Keep them, and comfort them in hours of
loneliness and pain,
when all their lives of sacrifice for souls
seems but in vain.
Keep them, and O remember, Lord, they
have no one but Thee,
yet they have only human hearts, with human
frailty.
Keep them as spotless as the Host, that daily
they caress;
their every thoughts and word and deed,
Deign, dearest Lord, to bless. Amen
Prayer for Vocations
Heavenly Father, bless your Church with an abundance
of holy and zealous priests, deacons, brothers and sisters.
Give those you have called to the married state
and those you have chosen to live as single persons in the world
the special graces that their lives require.
Form us all in the likeness of your Son so that
in him, with him and through him we may love you more deeply
and serve you more faithfully, always and everywhere.
With Mary we ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Bishop McVinney's Prayer for Vocations
O God,
Shepherd and Redeemer of all the faithful, grant, we beseech thee
through
the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, of St. Joseph, her spouse,
of the
Apostles Saints Peter and Paul, and all the angels and saints, an increase of
laborers for thy church,
fellow
laborers with Christ to spend and consume themselves for souls.
Through
the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
Prayer for a
Happy Death
O My Lord and Savior,
support me in my last hour by the strong arms
of Thy sacraments, and the fragrance of Thy consolations.
Let Thy absolving words be said over me, and
the holy oil sign and seal me;
and let your own body be my food, and Thy
blood my sprinkling;
and let Thy Mother Mary come to me, and my
angel whisper peace to me,
and Thy glorious saints and my own dear
patrons smile on me,
that in and through them all I may die as I
desire to live, in Thy Church, in Thy faith, and in Thy love. Amen.
Mary Stuart's Prayer
Keep us, O God, from all pettiness. Let us be
large in thought, in word, in deed.
Let us be done with fault-finding and leave
off all self-seeking.
May we put away all pretense and meet each
other face to face, without self pity and without prejudice.
May we never be hasty in judgment, and always
be generous.
Let us always take time for all things, and
make us to grow calm, serene and gentle.
Teach us to put into action our better
impulses, to be straightforward and unafraid.
Grant that we may realize that it is the
little things of life that create differences, that in the big things of life,
we are as one.
And, O Lord God, let us not forget to be
kind! Amen.
Mother Theresa's Prayer
O
God, we pray for all those in our world who are suffering from injustice:
For those who are discriminated against because of their race, color or
religion;
For those imprisoned for working for the relief of oppression;
For those who are hounded for speaking the inconvenient truth;
For those tempted to violence as a cry against overwhelming hardship;
For those deprived of reasonable health and education;
For those suffering from hunger and famine;
For those too weak to help themselves and who have no one else to help them;
For the unemployed who cry out for work but do not find it.
We pray for anyone of our acquaintance who is personally affected by
injustice.
Forgive us, Lord, if we unwittingly share in the conditions or in a system
that perpetuates injustice.
Show us how we can serve your children and make your love practical by washing
their feet.
Amen
Prayer of St. Teresa of Avila
Let nothing disturb thee, Nothing affright
thee;
All things are passing; God never changes;
Patient endurance Attains to all things;
Who God possesses In nothing is wanting;
Alone God suffices. Amen
Prayer of Blessed Juliana of
Norwich
 |
All things shall be well
|
And all things shall be well
And all manner of things shall be very well.
 |
The worst has happened and has been
repaired.
|
Prayer of St. Francis de Sales
Do
not fear what may happen tomorrow.
The
same loving Father who cares for you today
will
care for you tomorrow and every day.
Either He will shield you from suffering
or He
will give you unfailing strength to bear it.
Be at
peace then, and put aside all anxious thoughts and fearful imaginings.
Trust
in the Giver of all good gifts." Amen.
Prayer to St. William the
Confessor
St. William, you were a father to
your monks and a shepherd to your people.
Pray now before God's heavenly altar
that we might form a truly Eucharistic community,
alert to the Presence of Christ in
our hearts and in our church,
eager to share our Catholic faith
with people everywhere,
and especially intent on welcoming
our disadvantaged brothers and sisters. Amen.
Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi
Lord, make me an
instrument of Your peace.
Where there is
hatred, let me sow love;
where there is
injury, pardon;
where there is
doubt, faith;
where there is
despair, hope;
where there is
darkness, light;
where there is
sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as
to console;
to be understood
as to understand;
to be loved as to
love;
for it is in
giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning
that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying
that we are born to eternal life.
Prayer of
Blessed Charles de Foucauld
Father,
I abandon myself into your hands;
do with me what you will.
Whatever you may do, I thank you:
I am ready for all, I accept all.
Let only your will be done in me,
and in all your creatures -
I wish no more than this, O Lord.
Into your hands I commend my soul:
I offer it to you with all the love of my heart,
for I love you, Lord, and so need to give myself,
to surrender myself into your hands without reserve,
and with boundless confidence,
for you are my Father.
Prayers of St. Ignatius of
Loyola
 |
Suscipe
|
Take, Lord, and receive
all my liberty, my memory,
my understanding and my entire will,
All I have and call my own.
You have given all to me.
To you, Lord, I return it.
Everything is yours; do with it what you
will.
Give me only your love and your grace.
That is enough for me.
 |
Prayer for Generosity
|
Lord, teach me to be generous.
Teach me to serve you as you deserve;
to give and not to count the cost,
to fight and not to heed the wounds,
to toil and not to seek for rest,
to labor and not to ask for reward,
save that of knowing that I do your will.

The Nicene Creed
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of Heaven and earth, of all
things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the
only-begotten Son of God. Born of the Father before all ages. God of God,
Light of Light, true God of true God. Begotten, not made: consubstantial with
the Father; by Whom all things were made. Who for us men and for our
salvation, came down from Heaven: [kneel] and was incarnate by the Holy Ghost
of the Virgin Mary: and was made man. [stand] He was crucified also for us,
suffered under Pontius Pilate, and was buried. And on the third day He rose
again according to the Scriptures. And He ascended into Heaven and sitteth at
the right hand of the Father. And He shall come again with glory to judge the
living and the dead: of Whose kindgom there shall be no end.
And in the Holy
Ghost, the Lord and Giver of life: Who proceedeth from the Father and the Son.
Who together with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified: Who spoke
through the Prophets. And in One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. I
confess one Baptism for the remission of sins. And I look for the resurrection
